Low pressure plasma technology for polymer processing for some relevant applications will be examined. In particular, the processes for producing hydrophobic coatings, transparent barrier films, activated surfaces for adhesion, biocompatible surfaces will be considered. Emphasis will be given to the use of plasma and material diagnostics for gaining an insight on the mechanisms and for producing control process tools of industrial relevance.
